What's This Film About?

The Bucket List

Tucked inside his late brother's notebook, Abe found the bucket list his brother Jesse wrote before he died of an overdose. On Jesse’s bucket list: get married, fly a plane, wrestle an alligator & more. Now, with a few filmmaker friends, Abe is on a mission to accomplish the things his brother never could.

The Film

As Abe sets out on the daring, daunting attempts to accomplish his brother’s bucket list, we’ll explore topics like transitioning, family relationships, fear, addiction, joy, chosen family, and the human condition we all share. With Abe as our charismatic but raw and authentic narrator, we’ll see what happens when you risk everything to live out 27 unfulfilled dreams. There will be tears. There will be laughter. There will be alligators.

Director's Statement

"I’m not sure if this is going to be a doc about grief, transitioning, addiction, fame, growing up, or someone losing a finger in an alligator farm, but I do know this: over the past 2 years, millions of people have lost brothers (and mothers, and husbands, and children) from opioids, a raging epidemic, and mental health crises. We could all use a story about how to take that grief, sit with it, laugh a little bit at it, cry a lot at it, and turn it into something that helps us find ourselves." - Sylvie Krekow
